Celebrating Ten Years in Business
Jim Rohn once said, “Life is not the passing of time. Life is the collection of experiences and their intensity”. These words have never felt more real than now, as our team here at Northwestern Marketing Concepts celebrates ten years in business. It feels as if only yesterday we were opening our doors for the first time, consumed with feelings of excitement and nervousness. These years have absolutely been filled with experiences, growth, and deep professional development. From seeing team members advance into influential business leaders to traveling the world for philanthropy initiatives, walking on stage in front of thousands to growing our work family year after year, we wouldn’t trade these moments for anything. We can only hope that the next ten years are filled with as much success, happiness, and growth. Today, we want to share a little of our history in celebration of this day and as a way of preparing mentally for the years to come.
For as long as we can remember, travel has been our passion. As extroverts, staying within our comfort zones is not how we operate. This is why, from the very beginning, we have jumped at every opportunity to hit the road or hop on a plane and take off on a new adventure. We have traveled around the world to attend client conferences and to visit the offices of our colleagues, and in the past year alone, have been to Atlanta, Orlando, Ohio, and Costa Rica. In the upcoming months, we are heading to Riviera Maya, MX, and Las Vegas to connect with other leaders in our industry. These experiences have shaped our mentalities not only as leaders but as people. We can hardly wait to see what travel destinations we get to check off our bucket list in the upcoming years.
One of our favorite memories over the last decade was the moment we watched our President, Holly, walk on stage in front of thousands of attendees as she received her promotion to a Consultant role with our broker. Thanks to Holly’s leadership, we have received client recognition for years, continuously receiving their Campaign Cup quarter after quarter. Our consistent results made it pretty clear that Northwestern Marketing Concepts was not going anywhere and that we were up to the challenge of breaking company-wide records year after year. To top it off, the Better Business Bureau caught wind of our business practices and awarded us with an A+ rating. Recognition isn’t necessarily needed, but we won’t lie and say that we didn’t appreciate it!
After a while, we realized that our business was succeeding, and with this success came the realization that we were now in a place where we could start giving back to our community and to those around the world who needed an extra hand. Throughout the past ten years, we have fundraised and volunteered for Operation Smile: an organization that provides safe cleft palate surgeries for children in underdeveloped countries, Liberty Children’s Home in Belize: a home for more than forty abused, abandoned, and neglected children, and the Optimist Youth Football Team, located here in Boise, ID. Giving back to others is more than a way to pass the time — it’s our passion and our purpose.
As you can see, these past ten years have been fulfilling, rewarding, and full of happiness. We know that as long as we continue on with the same mentality that we had on day one, continued success will be inevitable. From our whole team here at Northwestern Marketing Concepts, thank you; to every person who has walked through our doors, mentored us, cheered us on, and been an ear to listen to when we needed it, thank you. Success is a team effort, and we couldn’t have reached this milestone without each and every one of you. Be sure to stay tuned because these upcoming years are going to be our best!
