How AJ Garcia Is Building His Future at Northwestern Marketing Concepts
Some people spend years searching for direction after college. AJ Garcia found his before he even walked across the stage. At just 22 years old, this 2026 Boise State graduate and Northwestern Marketing Concepts team member has already traded uncertainty for tunnel vision, and he’s just getting started.
Roots That Run Deep
Growing up in Duvall, Washington, AJ was shaped early by competition, discipline, and the influence of a father who never let him settle. As AJ’s club soccer team’s coach, his dad pushed him to his limits while also being his loudest supporter, a balance that left a lasting impression. The mantra his father instilled in him, “if it is to be, it’s up to me,” became a personal philosophy that AJ carries into every aspect of his professional life today.
That competitive drive followed him to Boise State, where he studied Business Administration and earned certificates in Elementary Spanish and Professional Sales. He threw himself into campus life as recruitment chair for both Phi Gamma Delta and the Professional Sales Club, building the kind of discipline and student mentality that would later prove invaluable once he stepped into the professional world.

The Email That Changed Everything
AJ’s path to Northwestern Marketing Concepts began with a well-timed email. Our recruiter reached out to find a sports-minded sales representative, and AJ, who was actively job hunting at the time, saw an opportunity worth pursuing. What started as a response to a cold outreach quickly became one of the most defining decisions of his young career.
Balancing school and work wasn’t easy. It required sacrifice, intentional time management, and a willingness to grow faster than felt comfortable. The experience gave AJ something no classroom could fully replicate: confidence, planning ability, and a deeply rooted certainty about where he was headed.
“I went from having no idea what I would do after graduation to having tunnel vision—focused only on building my empire and developing myself and everyone around me in every way I can.”
Growing Into Leadership
Since joining Northwestern Marketing Concepts on February 2, 2026, AJ has grown into one of our team’s emerging leaders. His greatest strength, by his own account, is his ability to build genuine relationships, particularly in a training context. He has developed a sharp instinct for understanding what motivates each individual and finding processes tailored to how they learn and improve.
Fueling all of it is a competitive drive that has been part of AJ since long before he ever stepped into a professional setting. A lifelong soccer player, he has always been motivated by differentiation, pushing himself to stand out and improve relative to those around him. That edge, combined with a systematic approach to decision-making and a steadfast trust in proven processes, has made him effective both in developing others and in raising his own performance standards.
His favorite achievement so far? Watching someone apply the feedback he gave them and improve in real time.
“A great leader is someone who can inspire and lead by example, proving that anybody can do what we do while feeding the fire that drives each individual to succeed.”
What Comes Next
AJ’s goals are clear and time-stamped. By the end of July, he aims to have at least one team member advancing into leadership at the next level. By the time he turns 24, he plans to run his own office. For someone who measures success in numbers and holds himself accountable to daily improvement, those targets aren’t aspirational—they’re operational.
His advice to anyone considering this path is straightforward: Be intentional with your learning from day one and use every resource available to you. Everyone in the business has stood where you’re standing, and that shared experience creates a depth of support that is rare to find elsewhere.
AJ Garcia’s story is still being written, and Northwestern Marketing Concepts is where it’s unfolding. If you’re looking for an environment that develops real careers, visit our website to explore opportunities across our locations in Boise, ID, Salt Lake City, UT, and 22 other markets nationwide.
